Understanding the Influence of Strategic Choice on Innovation Ecosystems' Policy and Performance: The Case of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH)

Welcome to my PhD journey! I am researching the influence of strategic choice on innovation ecosystems' policy and performance, specifically focusing on the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH). My research aims to enhance the understanding of how strategic decisions impact innovation ecosystems and their associated policies and performance outcomes.

Year 1: Establishing the Foundation
In the first year of my PhD journey, I confirmed the conceptual framework and outlined the project goals for the coming years. This foundational work set the stage for a comprehensive exploration of the key elements influencing innovation ecosystems.

Year 2: Diving into the Literature
Currently, in the second year, I am undertaking an extensive literature review to gain a deeper understanding of several critical areas:

-
Strategy as a Practice: Investigating how strategic practices are enacted in innovation ecosystems.
-
Actors/Practitioners: Examining the roles and influences of various stakeholders within the EDIH network.
-
Strategic Choice: Analysing how strategic decisions shape policy and performance.
-
Policy Implementation: Understanding the processes and challenges of translating strategy into effective policy.
-
Activities/Practices: Exploring the daily activities and practices that drive innovation within these ecosystems.

Through this detailed investigation, I aim to uncover the complex interactions that drive innovation and inform strategic decision-making within the context of EDIHs. Join me as I navigate this exciting journey, contributing to the fields of strategic management and regional innovation. I look forward to sharing my findings and insights with you along the way.
